This is the first Italian Festival we have come to see….but it won’t be the last.  I was under the impression it was simply a fete in the main street, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

We came to see the L’Eleganza Sera di Stile, the Italian Regional Diner, the Mother’s Day Luncheon and stayed at the Festival through Friday, Saturday and Sunday until late.  (We couldn’t fit the Wine & Cheese Movie Premier into our tight schedule.)

Just one of these would have been a major job. But to put them all on in the same week meant that the people in charge couldn’t be everywhere. And so the Italian Festival had to be a work of creativity designed and performed by a hard working team of dedicated personnel.  In such a small town as Ingham, I believe you put together an incredible achievement.

There was so much to see and to do.  Especially lovely was the number of businesses joining in the Negozio D’Eleganza contest. In fact, without entering the contest, so many others showed the Italian/Australian colours simply to be a part of the large setting.  The “feeling” was that everyone wanted to join in ….and did!

The entertainment was first class.  It catered for the young, young at hear and elderly….a very difficult feat to achieve.

The weather didn’t hold out the whole time, but with so much cover all over the area, I believe it added a little spice to a “fairyland”.

Thank you to the presenters of the Australian-Italian Festival, and looking forward to next year.

Mrs. Josephine Licciardello - SYDNEY, NSW.

Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce Industry and Tourism Inc. – President Piera Delroy  - INGHAM, QLD

I attended the Australian-Italian Festival and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The food was great, the entertainment was great, the weather was great despite the rain, and most of all the people of the district were just great.

This event is certainly a credit to the Ingham community, and the people of the region should be congratulated for staging such a wonderful event.  Well done Ingham, see you all next year at the same time and same place.

Rick Page, TOWNSVILLE, QLD.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation of the volunteers who worked tirelessly in setting up, dismantling and cleaning each day of the festival.

On the evening of May 11, I gave a speech in the Queensland Parliament regarding the overwhelming success of the Australian-Italian Festival held in Ingham.

I informed the Queensland Parliament that the Australian-Italian Festival in Ingham was immensely popular, with people coming from all over Australian and overseas to make this event once again a great success.

Marc Rowell, Member for Hinchinbrook, INGHAM QLD

Congratulations Ingham for another excellent Australian-Italian Festival very fitting celebration.

The community of Ingham and district must be congratulated for putting on a very successful event.

Bravo Ingham.  I will be honoured to represent you at the Federal level.

James Doyle, the Nationals' candidate for Kennedy, CHARTERS TOWERS QLD

We wish to congratulate the executive committee, the workers and performers who helped to create an entertaining and exciting Australian-Italian Festival.

Festivals of this type just don't happen.  Generous people make them happen and we believe our town should be extremely grateful to the people who gave of their time and energy to coordinate such a successful festival.  We have heard many favourable comments from locals and visitors.  The vision of brining together different cultures and people in our community, to provide another source of income and to promote our district is starting to bear fruit,  The benefits generated by the festival are starting to have an affect and will soon flow on to the wider community

We're proud of your efforts - keep up the good work.
