What's it all about: The Australian Italian Festival is an annual celebration that promotes and showcases the Italian Heritage in the Hinchinbrook Shire. The festival celebrates Ingham's cultural background dating from the 1890s when the first Italian immigrants came to the region." Ingham our "Little Italy" has all things Italian, beautiful people, beautiful food and a beautiful place to eat, play and love.
Celebrate with us the tremendous social, economic and cultural contribution that the Italian migrants made to the development of Ingham and the rest of North Queensland. The festival will embrace the natural attractions that the Hinchinbrook Shire has to offer to Queensland, Australia and Internationally. EAT our cultural delights of world class Mediterranean cuisine, watch how the Italians PLAY during their dance, song and performances. The 2011 festival will be held at the Award winning Tyto Wetlands Centre in Ingham on the 6th and 7th of August 2011. Overlooking lagoons and unique facets of nature the backdrop the 2011 festival will lend itself to the Australian Italian experience. |
